The Eboracum Roman Festival returns this May!
From a living history encampment and an impressive parade through the streets, to a symposium and lectures featuring Professor Mary Beard, Peter Addyman, John Oxley and many others, the Roman Festival will have something for everyone.
This year’s festival has been organised by the Yorkshire Museum in partnership with York Minster, York Archaeology, York Civic Trust and the University Of York.
Living History Camp in York Museum Gardens

Romans will once again take over York Museum Gardens with a living history encampment demonstrating the Roman way of life. This is a family friendly and free event for everyone to enjoy.
Explore the day-to-day lives of citizens and centurions through living-history demonstrations, expert talks, hands-on activities and storytelling for all ages.

Between 24 – 31 May 2025 make sure to visit the Yorkshire Museum where you can enjoy a range of of fun Roman themed activities, from Roman storytelling to mosaic making family workshops!
