Take an extraordinary journey through time where you’ll discover the story of the historic site and see York Museum Trust’s age-defining artefacts and extraordinary exhibits reimagined into a breath-taking light and sound installation by the internationally acclaimed Luxmuralis. From the age of the dinosaurs to the time of York’s Roman occupation, the power of the Vikings and the mysteries of the Medieval world, each chapter will come to life through artistry, imagination, sound and light.
Treat yourself to tasty churros and a delicious warm beverage as you wander through the Gardens after dark, discovering remarkable projections at every turn.
Luxmuralis, the team behind the Tower of London’s coronation light show, is all about art, light and sound reflecting on the history and heritage of places through weaving together the contemporary and the ancient.
For ten nights only, this special commission offers a completely unique experience enriched in local history, making York Museum Gardens the perfect location for such a show!
