Explore thousands of years of Yorkshire’s history through astounding artefacts and extraordinary exhibits. Don’t miss the last few weeks to see Star Carr: Life After the Ice before it closes on Sunday 19 April.

Meet Me at the Yorkshire Museum: Mary Anning the Fossil Collector
Tuesday 31 March, Friday 3 April, Tuesday 7 April and Friday 10 April 2026
Drop in between 11am – 4pm
Suitable for all ages
Join History Riot for an interactive storytelling experience where you’ll meet Mary Anning, a palaeontologist (fossil collector), and discover highlights of the exhibition through stories, music, games and laughter.
Creative Families

Drop in between 10.30am – 3.30pm
Suitable for all ages
Get hands-on in an artist-led creative workshop inspired by the fascinating story of botanist Catherine ‘Kit’ Rob and the natural world.

Nature Trail

Collect a trail booklet from the Yorkshire Museum admissions desk* | £2 per booklet
Enjoy the outdoors with our new self-led spring Nature Trail, taking you on a journey through the Museum Gardens to explore nature and wildlife.
Pick up your trail booklet from the Yorkshire Museum admissions desk and don’t forget to collect a small chocolate prize at the end!
*Museum admission is not required to take part in the outdoor Nature Trail.
General admission tickets last 12 months and allow unlimited free entry to the Yorkshire Museum throughout the year, offering great value days out for the family all year!
Please note, the Yorkshire Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, closed Mondays as usual. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the admissions desk on the day.
