Eboracum Roman Festival 2026: Schools

Eboracum Roman Festival: Resources and Events for Schools
The Eboracum Roman Festival 2026 aims to bring Roman York to life through an exciting programme of talks, living history, family activities and resources for primary schools. This year’s schools offer is being delivered by the Yorkshire Museum in partnership with York Minster and York Archaeology.
Thanks to valuable insights from teachers who were involved last year, we’re expanding our provision in 2026 with the addition of a free Roman History Livestream, where we will be looking at some of the fascinating evidence left behind by the Romans in York.
We’ll also be offering our in-person Teachers’ CDP Event again, with even more opportunities to access exciting resources to have your say about the activities we offer in future Roman Festival learning projects.

“Three renowned York-based heritage organisations – Yorkshire Museum, York Minster, and York Archaeology – have joined forces to create a Roman history super-team! Together, they’re offering a fantastically exciting programme of resources and activities aimed at Key Stage 2 children in primary schools across the UK.
Their Roman History Livestream will provide an expert-guided tour through York’s extraordinary ancient origins, exploring how it was transformed from frontline army fortress into one of Roman Britain’s most important cities!”
– Greg Jenner, Public historian, author, BBC podcaster.
