York Museums Trust’s project #CuratorBattle shortlisted for two national awards.

DATE: 4th June

York Museums Trust’s project #CuratorBattle has been shortlisted for two national awards.

The online project, which has been enjoyed by millions on Twitter over the last year, has been named a finalist in this year’s Association of Heritage Interpretation (AHI) Awards. The winner will be announced this November.

The nomination follows being shortlisted in the Best Use of Social Media category of the Museum & Heritage Awards, with the winner announced on July 1.

Earlier in the year #CuratorBattle helped the Trust win Best Performance During COVID in the PRCA’s national Just Marketing Awards.

The Trust also received Special Recognition by the AHI Awards for its community Twitter Takeovers which the judges said were “an excellent use of Twitter to work with and engage diverse audiences.”

#CuratorBattle was created in March 2020 as one of the ways to share the Trust’s collections and stories while closed because of the pandemic. The impact it had can be seen here:
