Become a Dino-Detective this Summer 2014!

Visitors beware; this summer dinosaurs are taking over the Yorkshire Museum in 2014!

There has been some very strange goings on at the museum with nine dinosaurs suspected of taking “bites” out of precious artefacts and the discovery of some dinosaur bones.

Children are being asked to become great dinosaur detectives to help staff solve clues around the museum, look at dinosaur fossils and find out which one of our naughty dinosaurs is responsible for chewing on the collections.

They can also create their own dinosaur mask and feet, build lego dinosaurs, handle real fossils and join the curator of natural sciences for a special kids talk about our amazing resident reptiles.  The ever popular Wild Wednesday family event is also back in Museum Gardens on 20th August with a dinosaur theme.

Emma Williams, assistant curator of science and archaeology (learning) said: “We have planned some great family activities to complement our fascinating dinosaur collection which has always been a favourite with children with teeth, claws, bones and even fossilised dino poo on display! Bring your kids for free for a great day out this summer.”

Activities include:
