Our shop sells a range of gifts, books, toys, jewellery, postcards and souvenirs. Entry to the shop is free.

Jewellery

We sell a range of silver jewellery, with prices starting at £7.99 for a pair of earrings. Pictured right is a Celtic Hare brooch, priced £40, from a range of individually-made jewellery by York designer Charmian Ottaway.

Roman and Viking gifts

Our Roman and Viking gifts and books are always popular with visitors to the museum and start at 99p for Roman military figures and Roman coins at £1.65.

We also sell replica Roman helmets and sword - the sword pictured right is priced at £140.

Our own publication Constantine the Great - York's Roman Emperor, from our 2006 exhibition, is still available priced £25.

Children's books

Children love our range of activity, history and science books, pictured right. Our selection ranges from Terry Deary’s Horrible Histories, £4.99 each, to activity books starting at £3.50.

 

Constantine The Great book

Our book Constantine The Great - York's Roman Emperor was published to celebrate the 2006 exhibition of the same name, which brought together treasures from across the UK and Europe. Written by leading experts in the field, illustrated with colour photographs, and edited by Elizabeth Hartley, Curator of the Constantine Project, it costs £25 and can be ordered by post.
